I hear you’re only supposed to blog about one topic. Since have many opinions on an array of topics I’ve decided to blazes with that rule, its my blog, I do it my way! As a writer, how can you be expected to speak about one topic when writing is how you express yourself? That’s like asking a person to only feel one thing. It’s just not on.
What I can tell you is that I intend to write what moves me to write. What inspires me. I feel that people should give credit where credit is due (not to say I’m some sort of ultimate credit-giver) so any little mention of or reference to a great works is a credit to its authenticator. For example the very name of this blog, The Blog Of Soul, is a play on words derived from Ab-Soul’s The Book Of Soul. I guess if I had to give it a genre, I’d call it the ‘illusion of life’. Not in the literal sense, I know I’m not dead, but I mean people often describe life in its metaphysical sense. A series of choices down to the individual and as a result of their past choices, they end up at a given place in life. I call it an illusion as I myself am a Determinist – nothing we do is truly free: there is no free will even though we may ‘feel’ free. This is the illusion. Within this there are many subsets as there are in life. I don’t intend to say much about myself as in my personal life but all I will say is that some of the words I may use, references I may make will be colloquial. Only for this reason I tell you I’m from East London, I’m female and I’m black. Nuff said about me thinks. IT’S BLOGGIN’ TIME!
You don’t have to blog about one topic, but a focus is good
Ah, I see. ‘Cause when I was reading up on before I started my blog every forum was saying to write about one thing I.e film, fashion or something like that. I figured the more I blog the easier I’ll find it to ‘find my voice’. No?
